Everybody in this saga is shown to have aged noticeably. Goku is wished to become a kid by the dragon balls- this is a nice and different storyline altogether. What characters say in Dragon Ball, should be taken with a grain of salt because they are not omniscient. Burger once said he’s the fastest person in the universe. Then, we find out he isn’t, but that isn’t a contradiction. Similarly, the Old Kaioshin thought that the potara earring rules would work the same way it does for mortals but it does not.
