Unfortunately, "master programmer" really doesn't have a definition. I've been programming for 34 years and I balk at using the term about myself. I believe myself to be a good programmer. I am certainly a professional programmer (meaning I get paid to program). I've called myself a "senior programmer" which really just means that I have more experience (or I just need to denote where I am in the pecking order).
