Don’t have a national (or worse, global) economic meltdown in his first term. The President doesn’t really have much control over the economy, but tends to get the blame when things go badly. To the extent a President does have influence here, he has mostly been working against himself, with things like throwing uncertainty into the insurance marketplace with the yanking of CSR payments.
Don’t come out on the wrong end of any wars in his first term.
